Come sit down

There is a promise in you. There is a place for you. There is a light shining in you – you, the sum of possibilities. The future is an open book and holds surprises and gifts. Spend time today with yourself. Look at you and see how much good, how much promise, how much aspiration is there. Look at you and behold the glow of Life in you.

As inspiration I find it always a good idea to check in with the wisdom of the ages. Millenia ago a spiriually-minded poet perceived something of the dignity, importance of man, of the worth and uniqueness of man, integrated into a marvelous whole, the whole we call Life:

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
From Psalm 139. The New Living Translation.

Can you feel the truth of this vision in your life? Can you sit down with yourself – really sitting down, not standing nor pacing the floor – and behold the goodness of yourself? Life is precious and new every moment and you are right there. So come sit down and be.
